The team
nineLegends was originally founded as "Team Newrope" by Benjamin "Ben" Ives and Řivind K. "Fana" Foss, on the 14th of August 2005. The first incarnation
of the team was short lived however and it would be almost a full year until the team was back again, with many of the same players. As an homage to
the original nine Team Newrope Natural Selection players, possibly the most stacked European roster ever assembled, we decided to change the name
of the team to nineLegends.
Originally, the team was created for one purpose: Playing the Half-Life mod Natural Selection competitively. Since then, we've branched out into other
games and started a small movie making outfit. After a brief stint playing Counter-Strike 1.6, we're currently in hibernation, waiting for a cool game to play. We're still making movies however, with one in production and two in pre-production.

The movies
In addition to playing games competitively, nineLegends hosts a gaming movie production team. Our goal is to make entertaining fragmovies the way
we think fragmovies should be made. In stark contrast to the current trend of movies with excessive effects use and little
focus on the frags themselves, we will endeavour to make fragmovies that captivate the viewer, while at the same time doing what they're supposed
to do: showing the skill of the featured players. That's not to say that we're not going to use effects and video/audio synch to enhance the
footage, these are quintessential parts of making entertaining fragmovies, but we will try our best to make sure our editing techniques don't
disrupt the flow and quality of the frag clips themselves.
We're fairly fresh on the scene, and as such we don't have the experience many other production teams have. At the same time we have the drive
and dedication to quickly improve and our goal is to do just that: Improve while making movies we and other people can enjoy. We originally started out making movies for the Half-Life mod Natural Selection, but since then we've branched out into
other games, for example Counter-Strike.
The website
Řivind K. "Fana" Foss begun development of the website during May 2006, and the first edition of the website was released on the 16th of July, 2006.
The website also changed its name and URL when the team went through its name change, with http://www.TeamNewrope.com turning into
http://www.nineLegends.com. The site went through another hiatus during the Summer of 2007, before being re-designed and re-released in October
2007.
